that daniel barnes guy over at sn&r is really digging up some fine gems with his 'in the mix' reviews. his shit is always candid ("while I can’t in good conscience recommend a film that is unbearably boring, Why Does Herr R. Run Amok? stuck with me a lot longer than most movies ...) and usually has a nice dry wit to it. i've never seen a fassbinder but i'm this close to re-subscribing to netflix just to keep up with these recommendations.
