sfff aujourd'hui -- FFT live!

the sacramento french film festival begins today. my live blogging will begin tomorrow morning at 10am from temple with my first post, wrapping up the opening night reception and the first film, tiger's brigade, which--unless it's good--i'll probably end up walking out on at the end of the second act to go check out the finches set.

saturday's schedule:

1140am: la vieil homme et l'enfant by claude berri. i've never seen a berri film, but he produced asterix and oblix: mission cleopatra, which sucks (but there's a real good snoop dogg french video for the film that i'll try to find on you tube). this will be the only screening of the film.

155pm: les temps qui changent by andre techine. this should be ok. i really like thieves. this film will also play on sunday.

445pm: les vacances de monsieur hulot by tati. this will also have a sunday morning screening, which should remedy my saturday night, which in all likelihood will be fucked up. heckasac has posted about her affection for tati.

630pm: la moustache.

845pm: gabrielle, the new film by chereau, who i think is a real exciting filmmaker. i've you've ever seen intimacy or those who love me can take the train, then you know he's a filmmaker that knows no bounds. rumour has it that i might miss this film, which is inexcusable--we'll see. this will be its only screening.

i'll put the sunday times up tomorrow, or you can find showtimes at the sfff site.

so don't forget: FFT live from SFFF, starting tomorrow at 10am. FFT en direct du SFFF, le 14-23 juillet!

You're judging Claude Berri by "Asterisk and Obelisk", which he didn't even direct? Come on! You need to go rent "Jean de Florette"/"Manon of the Spring" post haste!

Uh, dude...it's well past 10 a.m., and I see no signs of live blogging. You worked me into a tizzy for nothing! I am planning to come see the afternoon show of "Hulot's Holiday", so maybe I will see you there.
