borat crashes toronto

read this blog entry by david poland on the midnight screening of borat ... a screening that never was. evidently the projector broke during the first reel and could not be repaired. it's a funny entry by the otherwise dry and pretentious poland.

this failed screening reminds me of the time i was projecting in la and i built the second reel of a knights tale upside-down.

i worked at an art house, but we were having a special preview of the film, and all was going well so i cracked open a can of beer and was chillin in the booth. well, about 18 minutes into the film, the reel switched and heath ledger was all upside down and shit. i had just shotgunned a 22 oz sapporo and was all shitty and wasn't able to fix it. we had to tell the crowd of 400 "no go" and it really sucked. best part was that i never told my dumbass manager (she was always a no show and in vegas) and she didn't find out till some manager meeting and it really caught her off guard, no doubt. i never ended up seeing a knights tale; it looked pretty shitty.
