cure for the common cold
i'm on the downside of a head cold today, probably cos i was in the city and the change in weather makes me susceptible to a sneezes and coughs. bleh. i think the best thing when sick is a gilliam film (brazil), and lots of green tea and lentil soup (spicy soup, with chunks of baguette to dip and apples and peanut butter on the side). of course, i'm at work today--hardly the ideal remedy. but the a's will be on the radio tonight so i can sulk and mope and eat soup and listen.
as for a wrap-up:
darren aronofsky's the fountain was booed in venice at the festival, evidently. for the record, FFT is not down with booing films ... unless it's cremaster 3 ...
and reports that a skunk was let loose during a 70mm screening of playtime in telluride made me laugh. what a tati-esque prank.
and on a side note, cockburn has an epic bit on the need for new analysis of political constituencies going into the 2008 election.
below is a funny you tube video that's old. i'm probably about 4 months behind on it but it still made me laugh. haha.

too bad you missed "drawing restraint 9." :)
it's still in SF until the 17th. I'm actually considering seeing it; they're having a full-on exhibit for it at SFMOMA. There are banners along 19th Street through the Park and I wanted to climb up and steal one for ya, hah.
fo real. i mean, they ARE living on a sinking island for fucks sake!
you should check out "dr9" if you can. it's not as long as "c3." also, barney said the movie is NEVER going to be on DVD, because it's only intended to show in theaters or art galleries.
ok, i'm sold ... hopefully i can get to moma before the 17th.
