Crosby's back ...

I was too busy on Thursday downing the hooch to notice that the Chronicle reported on the A's medical staff's a misdiagnosis of his back injury. Turns out he has a fractured vertabrae, which should be healed by spring training. This is a relief: I was skeptical of his mystical, unknown muscle-injury diagnosis back in August.

This news also reaffirms my belief the professional sport medical staffs on average are totally incompetent. Firstly, just look at the lack of emphasis on nutrition. Case in point: Kobe eating cheeseburgers and cheesecake; the River Cats dining on hamburgers, fritos and peanut butter and jelly before games; dinner at C-Webb's new restaurant the afternoon before night games. These foods are terrible for digestion, and by no means provide top-caliber athletes with the proper nourishment to sustain and maximize performance.

And that's just their diets ...
