girltalk on the lt.

"so what you guys up to later," girltalk, aka gregg gillis, asked the crowd last night during a break in his set at freeborn hall. "dorm party, hamilton 203?"

"we're smoking weed!" someone yelled.

"oh, meet you at the fifty yard line, yeah," he quipped.

then he went back into it, mashing shit up on his toshiba laptop (his dell crashed three weeks ago and he doesn't know how to use a mac).

in a word, the shit was wild. even if you don't like pop music, you might have a place in your heart for his crazy, often unrecognizable mashups--cece peniston's "finally" with the doobie brothers' "what a fool believes." best dance party with a national deejay in the sacto area since kid 606 was at old ironsides last february. killer.

it does little just writing about it so i'll post some really awesome photos later on today ...
