Call me a nervous Nellie (or a cynical bastard), but I hate to see Obama get off message even a little bit. It has to be McCain=Bush; Obama=change, in a monotonous loop for two more months. The media hates the loop, and that's why they try to gin up little controversies now and then (tho to be fair, they don't seem to be buying into McCain's phony outrage about obama's remark). But the American people (i.e., the great horde of TV zombies that will some day soon usher in the new flesh) needs the loop lest they get confused about who to vote for.

i'd rather have obama cracking lipstick asides then trying to "explain" himself (ie, be on the defensive).
Plouffe is smart but the biz is the biz and this is going to be a dead heat into Election Day. Buckle up, right?
