Hella Last Night: the Other Poets, Live Manikins, CITYSTATE - The Press Club - 03.25.09
Random showed up in a coat and jeans and hung out in the back of the room then went on stage and just ripped it. Prozak is not the most dynamic rapper, but he's awesome and really busts out high WPMs.
Live Manikins with--thankfully--DJ Rated R, his first show back.

Really fun show last night.
Top to bottom photos are of the Other Poets (emcees Random Abiladeze and Prozak Morris with DJ Rated R spinning). Then Live Manikins. Then CITYSTATE.
Side note: Having hard time finding a setting I like on my new camera. Help (Ryan?)!

These are pretty good photos for a nite club. I hate shooting in clubs myself, because I'm self-conscious about using the flash.
Tips:
use custom white balance if your camera supports it, may help tone down the alien-color effect. (you camera porbably supports it, you just got to look for it in settings)
Make sure your ISO is set relatively high (400? play with different settings). This tip is important.
If your camera supports it, use f/4 aperture and let the camera choose the shutter speed.
A micro-tripod could help, but not feasible in crowded club.
Shoot underexposed (so you shots look dark when you chimp them in the camera's lcd screen), then brighten them in post production (photoshop or gimp, etc).
underexposed in this case = no flash
yeah these were shot on 1600 ISO with the aperture opened all the way. still toying with it. ...
