a cop pulled me over, over coffee
this cop was drinking coffee out in front of cornerstone yesterday (wednesday) when i rode by on the sidewalk. as i approached, i pointed at me so i stopped.
he told me that: (1), I shouldn't be riding on the sidewalk.
i know, but i ride very slow and cautiously, and have been doing so every morning for practically five years.
then he told me that: (2) i can't listen to headphones, just a headphone--only one ear. just like in a car.
he didn't give me a ticket, but i had to totally kiss his ass cos he had his book out. i've only been pulled over once driving, and now only once on my bike. over coffee, no less.

also, if he tried to write you up, you could have said you didn't have your ID on you. What's he gonna do? Take you in?
I have no problem with bikes on the side walk, as long as they give peds the absolute right of way. nothing worse than being pushed off into the street cuz of some oblivious schmuck on a cruiser.
Yeah, just keep riding. He's not going to chase you, especially with coffee in hand. He was just looking for someone to shove around a little.
