Shakin down the 'Croft
Oh man!
These two follow-up articles to former deputy attorney general James Comey's testimony on Capitol Hill yesterday.
This one from the NY Times.
And these two from the Washington Post.
All this reminds me of the scene from the Godfather when Brando is sick and Pacino goes to the hospital, all the guards are gone and he recruits the baker (I believe, maybe the tailor or the flower vendor) to stand guard and scare off the mob.
For those that don't believe the Bush administration would have the gall to fudge an election or compromise national security, reading this and seeing how they treat their own should be enough for you to reconsider.

I see that Hegel has called for alberto gonzales to resign, but Josh Marshall says that Bush will never let Gonzales go, because he, rove and cheney feel they need to get out of office before an independent AG is allowed to review what the justice dept. has been doing the last three years. Once they are out of office, it won't be politically feasible to hold them accountable for whatever laws they may have broken, disregarded or subverted.
At this point in time, I think it's too late for an AG to put a case together. They'll be long gone, no? What is worrisome is, like in the intelligence community during the early '80s, what kind of groundwork the neocons have laid for future/further takeover/undermining/manipulation of the DOJ.
Jared: According to your blog, you're a total ahole. Must be rough, buddy.
