toho'd, ss'd, brownie'd and LBJ'd

Town House, Saturday 12:35am.

Yeah my new shtick is verbalizing nouns. Got an issue? Take it up with my editor, natch.

I'm on deadline for the MM so we'll keep this brief. Just a handful of elements to report:

Toho: Will be open every Friday for private parties, or so a certain deejay informed me. I think beers are $2-4, and Roger kills on the upstairs, which has a cool black-and-white tiled floor and a sweet grip rig of various lights and strobes. The subwoofer was jacked on Friday, but Roger's mix of indie and good-time oldies worked nicely.

SS: Of note: check out Jyoti's grabs at Olipom, and check out my shots in the lobby of SN&R.

Eat cake: Because I'm trying not to smoke, I made a nice cake this weekend. Come eat it with me in my backyard sometime. Mmm ...

LBJ'd: Sorry I didn't make it to game 2, Jana, but boy I'm kinda glad I missed it. Some people are saying the Cavs are the worst team to ever play in the finals. I'm not going to qualify that claim, but unless someone—anyone?—steps up early on in the game and gets to the rack or hits open shots, this sucker will be over by next weekend.

And thank god: The NBA is so damned boring and the season so long.

I gotta think that 76ers team that made the finals against the Lakers was worse than these Cavs. On that team, AI and Eric Snow were probably the two best players on that team. Now LeBron is just as good as AI and Snow is maybe just the 5th or 6th best player on the team. The NBA isn't boring, they just have the same problem as the NFL: the guys who run the league think that people want to watch boring basketball without any personality.

Yeah but that 76ers team took game No. 1, no?

The irony of boring NBA is that all the rules favor the offensive part of the game.
