Word scramble
It's like those magnet letters on the fridge: This is the least offensive re-arrangement of the new Rite Aid marquee on J and 48th streets. The late-night drunks leaving Club 2 Me have been a bit more, well, primitive: turning "ice cream, $1.99" to "tit cream, $99." Great work, guys.
Tyger town: Record Club got pretty busy yesterday afternoon, with a nice-sized crowd to check out the set of Red Tyger Church, who have a nice, almost '90s Brit rock-pop sound. They were entertaining. The day got long, however--only two bands in by 6:30 and I had to get my second wind so as to make it to the Dusty Brown set later on that night.
What a Shea-me!: The A's lost all three games in N.Y. this week. Bleh.
Flyflyflyflyfly!!!!!: Should I ditch ES's Record Club tonight (the original Sac RC, btw) and check out Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!, this Bitches Brew like jazz outfit from Portland, in the basement on 22nd Street. I would ... but if I do, I might not hear the end of it--but then again, ES hated on the SBN&R Bears softball game a few weeks back (oh, we play the Sac Bee on Wednesday, check it). The show's at 8 or 9. Look online.

The old Sacramento Inn Cinemas marquee (pretty high in the air so it could be seen from Bus80) was hit once in a while with some creative re-titling. To get up there took some work.
Culturejamming cinema marquees is the new not buying coffee from Starbucks.
