Azul in the face

Just ate at Azul, the new tequila bar and Mexican joint in the Marrrrrrrs complex on 20th.

Got the wet burrito, which they made veggie for me (rice, beans, pico, mushrooms, green bell pepper, other stuff) cos it's not on the menu. Comes with unlimited chips and salsa for $6.90 including tax. The salsa (pico, a mild green and a tangy red) are house made and the chips are flaky and hot. The burrito wet-style isn't all that; the cheese too, well, look at the above photo. The red sauce is mild with a slight tomato-y flavor—unoffensive. The burrito itself was satisfying, and at first try one of more enjoyable within 10 blocks. It's not Jarritos cheap ... but what is. Azul opened on Saturday and serves tacos ($1.90, five kinds of meat), main plates, appetizers, and will have a full tequila bar come this weekend. I'm no Martian, but will try the rajas and cheese tamales or the house-made chile rellenos soon.

Movie City USA and FFT took a joint field trip last night to see Cloverfield, which is The Blair Witch Project meets 9/11. It drops Friday. My review's embargoed, but fuck that noise; I'll have some thoughts up tomorrow.
